Sorry it's Been so Long

I can't believe how fast this month has flown by. I was talking with one of my bosses and I had to turn the calendar page over, she couldn't believe that it is almost March. She thought the month of February had flown by also.

I have to show you a small skein which wasn't a skein too long ago. This fiber had been sitting on one of my Ashford bobbins for the past FOUR years. Yes, you read that right! Four years is an awfully long time waiting to be made into a skein of yarn. This is a combination of a brown fleece purchased from Fred and Jo and some mohair locks I picked up from somewhere. I thought the yarn turned out ok. Not the best plying job, but then when I set the twist I didn't really whack it too much. I haven't decided what to do with it yet, so it will probably sit in the stash for a while.

My begonia from Catherine is blooming very nicely. I have had blooms on it for most of the month. I like to check it out every day to see how it looks.

I have been busy knitting, but it's not my place to show you what I have been working on. I am planning a number of baby projects. I have two new grandbabies due this year, so I'll need to get working on little things soon. It may take me most of that time to get knit what I want to for these little new babies.

Not much else is going on here except for life. It gets really hectic sometimes! I will try to keep in touch more often.

Happy knitting & spinning.

Hi, Laura
I am finally getting caught up with your Blog - it goes a lot better with my new wireless internet service. I cannot believe that begonia! I divided mine last summer and now have 2 which are coming along, but they have never bloomed. You truly have a green thumb.

I started looking for a job but this economy is not conducive to employment. Then on Valentines day we adopted a second dog. So I am busy with doggy daycare.

I miss the cardinals - I know that they live in northern Id., but they are not here. I am glad you are enjoying walking about with your dog, and I guess you are happily employed now as well.

We had a big melt with flooding this past Tuesday, but it is cold again. What a long winter! But John has heard the Red Winged Blackbirds call, and I have seen the robins down by the creek, so spring is coming, really it is.

I have a bunch of sewing to do for my handweaver back in MA, so had best get to it!

I know what you mean about how fast the month has gone by. March already!! I like your skein, it's very pretty. I can see a lacey scarf or maybe a lacey mobis (spelling?)?

You sure have a green thumb, that begonia looks very good! Baby projects are so much fun for several reasons. 1st, the reason you are making them :), 2nd they are small and don't take nearly as long as a large pair of socks, or sweater would take ;P, 3rd, because they are small, they look so darn cute!!!!

Hope you have a great March. :)

You mean there's hope! (Looking at some of my long-neglected bobbins.)
